Shopping is integral to any trip, whether for holiday mementos or local products, or designer brands and clothing such leather goods, furs and shoes. Athens offers an astoundingly diverse range of choice, be it in large shopping malls [Golden Hall, Attica, Athens Metro Mall, MacArthur Glen Designer Outlet at Spata] or quaint outdoor markets in Plaka and Monastiraki. Travel easily and effortlessly in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle, as your driver waits patiently for you to finish shopping and then bring you back to the hotel or port. Simply take the stress out of travel!
If religious tourism is something you are interested in, we can arrange tours to some of the countless historical monasteries located near Athens within the Attica region. They include the historical Evangelismos [Annunciation] Monastery [also known as Agios Efraim Monastery] in Nea Makri, which is one of Attica’s oldest monasteries dating back to the 10th century, Kimiseos Theotokou Monastery (the Dormition of the Mother of God Monastery) in Palaia Penteli (1578 AD), Kessariani’s Byzantine Monastery (1100 AD), and Dafni Monastery which dates to the second half of the 11th century. Other remarkable monasteries within easy reach are the complex of monasteries at Meteora near Kalabaka, the miraculous monastery at Prokopi on Evia dedicated to St. John the Russian and others too numerous to mention.
Ports of Arrival
If you are on a cruise and dock at Piraeus, for just a short time, we can arrange 4- or 8-hour tours in and around Athens, picking you up at the port for a tour of the capital, a meal in a traditional restaurant, shopping at prime commercial locations, or tailor-made tours that suit the time you have at your disposal, before your ship sails, which is usually mid-afternoon around 16:00 hours.
Fancy a trip to taste some wine at a vineyard in Attica or Nemea in the Argolid, which is considered to be one of Greece’s most important wine-growing regions? Do you love good wine and fancy a visit to or a tour around a winery? Are you interested in local dishes and traditional products and how they are made? Fancy a cookery or confectionery lesson? We have a great many ideas to offer anyone who is a fan of gastronomic tourism and all of them are bound to be palatable to even the most demanding visitor!
Costs Of Tours
Deep Blue Tours can plan a route based on your preferences and interests, so you can enjoy a lovely, experience-packed tour which includes pick-up at the hotel / port / airport, transfer in a fully air-conditioned sedan or minivan taxi, by an experienced, professional driver, free Wi-Fi, insurance coverage for the vehicle/driver, tolls [if applicable] and fuel. We will plan out the trip and provide a costing per vehicle based on the route and number of days you want.
What’s not included
Our tours [whether inside or outside of Athens] do not include meals, entrance fees to archaeological sites and museums, and guided tours. We can, however, arrange guided tours with an official tour guide at additional charge.
If you're interested in a trip outside of Athens that requires an overnight stay, we have contracts with hotels in all the areas we cover, where the driver can stay for free, so you only have to pay the cost of accommodation/meals for you and your family. However, if you’d like some other accommodation which we don’t have an arrangement with, you will also have to pay €30/day for the driver’s accommodation. You don’t have to pay the cost of the driver’s meals.
